Great granddad was a wonderful man. He went to a privite boarding school when he was 7 years of age and when he left he then joined the air force and was deployed to Malta. While he was there he drove amunition trucks across the island. After the second world war he came home to England and met my great nan, Margeory, they were soon married and had 5 children , David, Brenda, Ian, Addline and Sandra, aswell as fostering young mums-to-be and their young children . He worked as a mechcanic untill he retired when he then spent his spare time on his boat which he used to sail when ever possible. He spent every weekend with great nan and grand children ,Steven and Michelle, sailing around the U.K. As they got older he then took great nan on a trip around the world ending up in Australia where they stayed for an extra year visiting relatives before coming home. They then moved to the Isle of wight and lived happily untill we lost great nan shortly after their golden wedding aniversary .He then moved back to family in Bognor regis where he past away after 4 years of suffering in the arms of his daughter Sandra on Monday 31st March 2008 leaving behind 3 of his 5 children,6 grand children and 9 great grand children.

A Grandad...

Grandad...so many images come to mind
whenever I speak your name;
It seems without you in my life
things have never been the same.

What happened to those lazy days
when I was just a child;
When my life was consumed in you
in your love, and in your smile.

What happened to all those times
when I always looked to you;
No matter what happened in my life
you could make my gray skies blue.

Grandad, some days I hear your voice
and turn to see your face;
Yet in my turning...it seems
the sound has been erased.

Grandad, who will I turn to for answers
when life does not make sense;
Who will be there to hold me close
when the pieces just don't fit.

Oh, Grandad, if I could turn back time
and once more hear your voice;
I'd tell you that out of all the grandads
you would still be my choice.

Please always know I love you
and no one can take your place;
Years may come and go
but your memory will never be erased.

Today, Angels, as you are listening
in your home above;
Would you go and find my grandad
and give him all my love.

For Normans family...Thinking of you. x

A letter from Heaven

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.

I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; Here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.

That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through.
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, 'I welcome you.'

'It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, They'll be here later on.

I need you here so badly, you are part of my plan.
There is so much that we can do, to help our mortal man.'

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.

And when you lie in bed at night the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you.... in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years.
Because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.

But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.

But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it by taking one day at a time.

It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too;
That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who is in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night....'My day was not in vain.

And now I am contented... that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile.'

So if you meet somebody who is sad and low;
Just lend a hand to pick them up, as on your way you go.

When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go....
from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going....
you're coming here to be with me Xxxxxx

grandad

Grandad,you were just a lad,
so many years ago.
you had your hopes you had your dreams
You watch us come and grow
You watched us make the same mistakes
That you had made before
But that just made you hold us tight
And love us all the more.
We haven't always thought about
The things that you have seen
To us you've just been Grandad
No thought of who youv'e been
But we remember now in love
Your life from start to end
And were just glad we knew you
As grandad,and as a friend.
